Le manifestazioni della XV edizione del Premio Europa per il Teatro, il più prestigioso riconoscimento europeo in ambito teatrale, e la XIII edizione del Premio Europa Realtà Teatrali si svolgeranno dal 23 al 26 aprile 2016 in Romania, a Craiova.
Le manifestazioni si svolgeranno sotto il Patrocinio del Sindaco e il finanziamento della Città di Craiova (Candidate City – Craiova Cultural Capital of Europe 2021) e in cooperazione con la Fondazione Shakespeare di Craiova ed il Teatro Nazionale Marin Sorescu di Craiova che si impegnano inoltre ad ospitare ed organizzare le manifestazioni del Premio Europa per il Teatro a Craiova, anche con il contributo dell’Istituto Rumeno di Cultura.
La Città di Craiova in sinergia con la Fondazione Shakespeare ed il Teatro Nazionale Marin Sorescu di Craiova che ospitano il Premio Europa, hanno fortemente voluto che la manifestazione avesse luogo come evento conclusivo della decima edizione dell’International Shakespeare Festival, che il 23 aprile 2016 coinciderà con i 400 anni dalla morte di Shakespeare.
L’Unione dei Teatri d’Europa è un organismo associato e sostenitore, unione patrocinata da François Mitterrand e fondata da Jack Lang e Giorgio Strehler, il quale ha fortemente voluto la cooperazione con il PET fin dalla creazione dell’UTE, mentre l’Associazione Internazionale Critici di Teatro, l’Istituto Internazionale del Teatro UNESCO, l’European Festivals Association e Europe: Union of Theatre Schools and Academies (E:UTSA) sono organismi associati.
