Winter has come at last! But don’t panic, put on your caps and scarves and go out to enjoy your cold nights with our tips.

Let’s start, as usual, from Milan, where – for the prose – Alice Underground makes its national debut from December 3 to 31 at Elfo Puccini (directed by Ferdinando Bruni e Francesco Frongia).

An excellent example of experimentation is on stage at Teatro della Contraddizione with The variable K from Franz Kafka by Marco Maria Linzi (from December 6 to 9, from 13 to 16 from 20 to 23), while at Out Off continues up to December 23 August Strindber’s Il padre (The father), directed by the young talent Alberto Oliva.

In Rome, the theatre Argot Studio presents, from December 4 to 16, Maternity Blues (From Medea), a performance based on a Grazia Verasani’s novel. The director and protagonist is Elena Arvigo, who will be even the main character of the next play on stage at Argot, Sarah Kane’s 4:48 psychosis, directed by Valentina Calvani (from December 18 to 23). Tradition is on stage at Teatro Argentina, with Carlo Goldoni’s Servant of Two Masters, with the direction of Giorgio Strehler put on by Ferruccio Soleri (from December 4 to 16) and La Cantata dei pastori (Shepherds’Song), loosely based on the Andrea Perrucci’s work, with Peppe Barra and Paolo Memoli (from December 18 to 22).

Let’s move to Tuscany, where we signal in Lucca at Giglio the Macbeth, performed by the excellent Giuseppe Battiston (December 13, 14 and 15), while from January 11 to 13 Bertolt Brecht’sThe resistible rise of Arturo Ui is on stage with the great Umberto Orsini.

Finally, we suggest on December 15 at Sala Ademollo di Palazzo Ducale, Their sound is gone out into all lands, a Christmas concert played by the Semperconsort, an early music ensemble playing Italian and European music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

In Turin, for the ballet, Fondazione Teatro Piemonte Europa for Palcoscenico Danza presents the inaugural event with two international dance companies: Balletto dell’Esperia and Balletto Teatro di Torino (at Astra December 13 and 14).
